I am just about to take receipt of my 10D. I have a job coming up and need a program that allows me to put my pics onto Cd's in a slide show. I think Proshow is powerful enough but you cant go back and forth between images (it only plays an entire show then stops ). It also isn't very user friendly. Any suggestions please?

if your using a mac use iPhoto (free) it allows you to make slide shows, screen savers, and you can transfer the photos to iMovie and iDvd for a great presentation (burn them as a VCD or DVD with themes)

Also, you can make movies rather than slide shows. I've used iPhoto, but don't like it nearly as much as iView MediaPro. I guess its a matter of how you want to distribute the photos. Do you also want to embed music with the presentation? How about captions, transitional effects etc.....? Some things to think about.

Check out MySlideShow at www.anixsoft.com. It will allow you to create HTML slideshows and also CD slideshows the don't require the user to install any software. Very easy to use and configurable too. You can go forward and backward. Plus it's only $24.

I'm with Scott on this -- I have been using iView Media Pro for many years, would have to say it is the best product available (great price as well). Of course, it is now available on Windoze. Not only its slideshow capabilities, but Web Galleries, Backup, exif support and its ability to catalog all types of files. Can't go past it for value.

Hi tikkeltokkel,

Pictures to exe is very easy to use and cheap too, about £15.00 with free updates for life.

The programme allows you to syn your slides with music, save to a CD as an executable file, whichmeans anyone with a wintel pc can run the show without additional software. you just need to ensure that any fonts you use are available on the recipients machine.

No Mac version though.
