The male is pretty large, the photos don't do much justice. The male gives you a good pull around while leashed. The female is much more relaxed about things.

This is my lab Cooper. Photographing black dogs can be really frustrating at times, but I get really excited when I finally get one that I think is good. I used this for my christmas cards.

Dutch is an astute climber of 5-6 foot fences, but he doesn't need chalk for that. The bag is a water bag, and a crappy one at that. After a couple of months of easy use, it has become a leaker.

Poor little Fisher. Lucy dug up a bee's nest too and she was scared and shaking for an hour.

Here's our pit bull/beagle Lucy. She had her first birthday on March 20th. The other dog is her new best friend Lily, a 13-week old bulldog puppy that I have been babysitting during the day for the past 3 weeks. They absolutely love each other.

Yes dogs get that. I have plenty of pictures of Lucy with blue-eye (or green-eye). I think it's because dogs (and cats) have an extra reflective layer behind their retinas. When the light comes in, it hits the retina, then the reflective layer which sends it back to the retina so the light can be absorbed again. That's why dogs and cats have better night vision than we do.

Honest....somewhere in there is a dog, a big dog trapped ina small dogs body. I swore I'd NEVER buy a Yorkie. Well, my wife gave me one for my birthday and it is the best dog I've ever owned.

I've never posted pics yet on here, but I am LOVING this thread so I have to contribute.
Last summer, I took 'portraits' of our priest's dogs - he (obviously) doesn't have kids but his doggies are as close as he can get. They're beautiful labs full of love and life. I don't have any dogs of my own anymore, but here we go with Father's dogs. I did the portraits as a surprise gift for him, for Fathers Day (I thought I was being cute and funny haha).

Here's one of all three, I hope it's okay for me to post this - it wasn't taken on a Canon, I was using my brother's Sigma SD10 at the time.

Sadly, the cute Yorkie is the pack's alpha dog. I think I sit 2nd or 3rd on the totem pole, I'm not sure. Me and the 4 1/2 month-old Maltese pup are still fighting it out for 2nd top-dog. He currently has the upper hand. But I have a plan. Neither if us is fixed yet so I am thinking that he'll lose a bit of determination and drive once he is subjected to that procedure.

I was watching this guy last week and took a couple of shots of him to give to his owner @ a later date. He is around 18 years old and starting to fail - she said it was probably the last time I will see him :(. He used to be a bit "touchy" but now is just a sweet old guy.

Here is a pic of a 6 wk old boxer pup that my daughter recently aquired, she was standing outside at a friends house when a truckload of boys drove up and threw out a cardboard box, she saw a puppy fall out and went to investigate,, there were 4 dead pups and this one live one,, of course she brought the live one home,, she named her lucy,, of course we had to get her a diamond collar ;-)

Thanks pasquatch,, that shot was taken the same day that the pup was brought home,, I kinda like the emotion and apparent sadness in the other B&W shot too,, but youre right, the connection between the 2 there is special,, that little pup surely would have died if my daughter wasnt standing there,,,how could anyone be so cruel,, I'm a huge dog lover, I have 3 now,, have had them all my life,,, they truely are mans best friend !!!

This is a tough one to post today...we just found out yesterday, after seeing a neurosurgeon, that Emma has cancer, and it has spread to her brain. I don't know what we will do without her. She is only 6..but has packed in a lifetime in those short years for us.
This happened so quickly.
We are a heavy hearted home.:cry:
