Didn't take too long really, about 1/4 hour and 15 shots, this was the very last one taken - guess I was a little lucky. I take a lot of pets portraits so I know how difficult it can be working with dogs. (or any animals for that matter)

What an amazing thread! :) So much talent, and beautiful dogs, too. I'm an avid dog lover, but don't have any of my own. Here are my girlfriend's dogs, though:

1. Cassie Rae, "big mama"... she was the runt, and I love that her nose is so short and curved. She almost looks like a puppy!

2. Dude. :) Not sure what he is, although he looks like a wirehair/cairn mix or something like that. I call him "Mr. Entitlement", since he thinks he can just get whatever he wants without any effort.

3. A common sight... Dude and Tigger waiting to come in from the cold. The glass is so dirty from their noses and slobber, so the picture is kind of gross, but I laugh at it every time I look at their faces. :)

We have the same problem with our two (the two shelties in front of the fireplace pic)

I have been visiting this forum for a while but this is the first time I have posted a photo :oops: It's been lovely to look at all the happy dogs you have :)

This is a photo of our little old dog Sweetie, over Christmas (you can probably tell by the tree ;)).

She passed away almost a month ago :sad: and this is about the last photo I took of her and she generally didn't like the camera very much, so this is very precious.

Originally went to the breeder for one, we used to go and see them from a week old but my wife fell in love with Paige and vise-versa, Paige was also the runt of the littlebut she adopted my wife as well so we decided to take Paige along with Pheobe.

Today I carried my Rebel XT with a Canon 10-22 (the only lens I currently have) on my trail run, and shot these a few minutes before the sun went down. These are just poor, fast snapshots, but for those of you who just like to see dogs:D .....My dogs are a Shepherd/Wolf mix (133LBS Rescue), Beauceron (85LBS) & a Boxer (70LBS Rescue), and cumulatively they tucker out by about mile 5.....lol.

What a brilliant thread, it's great to see so many dogs, especially the Rotties and the mutts. Here's my contribution, Fudge, our 10 year old boxer cross. She was abandoned at 4 weeks, because she did'nt have the boxer muzzle, she was rescued by us on Christmas Eve 1997, best dog ever....

I'm not sure if I've posted in this thread or not.... Here are the four beings that complete my life and my heart. =)
Simba (tan with black muzzle) is my 9 year old Shepherd/Pit Bull mix. He is the most laid back, sweetheart of a dog. He was adopted from the SPCA after being there for 4 months.
Nala (tan with white stripe on nose) is my 4 years old Labrador/Great Dane mix. She was adopted from the Humane Society at 8 weeks. She was left in a box at their door step with her litter.
Kiara (smooth black/tan/white) is my 3 year old Black and Tan Coonhound mix. She chose us at 15 weeks old at the HS. She would bark/cower away from everyone else except us.
Mufasa, last but not least, is the fluffy puppy. A former co-worked called me at 11pm December 1st saying her "found" this puppy... wouldn't tell us where he found him. Asked us if we could take him as he couldn't. We took him, planning to rehome him, well.... he's fully vetted and licensed in our name. Anyhow, he is 5 months old now.

I'm sure that's more than you wanted to know! Sorry about the resizing/borders, they're a bit small and tacky but they are resized for a pet forum I'm on. Too tired to resize them better for here.

She gave us a huge scare in September. She got out and was gone for 5 days. After spending nearly $500 in gas, ink, paper, tape, etc. And not going to work the whole week, we finally got a call that someone tried catching her but she wouldn't come to him. My brother spotted her but she doesn't see him often. He chased her for 2 miles on foot while leaving his truck running in the middle of the road. :eek: He couldn't get her.

So, we spent from 5pm that day until 2:30am the next morning searching in the same area. I was exhausted so I went home and slept. I slept perfectly sound that night and woke up at 6:00am in the morning to my father throwing Kiara on top of me in my bed. It was the best night sleep I had as I awakened from a nightmare.
