Hi All, first time poster here...

This is my dads dog. Thought I would drop it here. I am very new to photography having just purchased a 350D as a first camera. Unfortuantley the photo was taken in my dads back garden during a BBQ, so the back ground was just horrible fences etc. Thought it looked better after I changed the background for one taken at the beach..

This is Mack, who we sadly lost to Cancer two years ago at age 11. He was my first best dog and life is hard without him. We think he was Lab and Golden and I rescued him from an Animal Shelter at age 2.

This is Brandy, the dog Mack found and insisted that we keep because she was skin and bones and needed us. We think she was about 9 months old when we rescued her from the streets. She definitely has some beagle in her but after that we have no idea what she is besides a cuddle dog who is afraid of the kitchen and likes to hang out under the bed.

This is Ginger who is dumb but obedient. She is loveable and sweet but also high energy with low attention span. I love her despite her faults. She is lab and probably Husky. We took her from my dad who's dog had puppies unexpectedly.

And this is Abby, Ginger's mother. She was my dad's dog till he got the cancer last year and died. She's been living with us about a year now and is the best dog I've ever inherited. She loves the ball and a good nap. She has adusted nicely to living with my mutts despite her age and is a welcomed member of our family now. She's pure bred lab with papers.

I might have posted my dog, Hero, here before..but she recently found "mud". Thought I'd share. Her lower 1/2 was almost black with mud, but I wanted to focus on the mud in the face/mouth. ;-)

Harry is our 2-year old brown Newfoundland. He weighs a little over 200 pounds and is as tall as a Great Dane. He is also evil. Our last Newfoundland weighed 155 pounds, just about right, but Harry's extra 50 pounds makes it like living with a horse in the house!

Although I posted a quick business question, I have yet to introduce myself. Thought this was a great place, since my business is called Heart Dog Studios :) I love to photograph dogs, and often spend hours at a dog park just shooting away. My dog, Borias, is truly my "heart dog", a once in a lifetime dog. He's my service dog, my inspiration, and my friend. I picked out a few of my favorite photos I've taken of him since falling in love with photography. I got a Rebel XT last year, and invested in a few good lenses already. (Now drooling for an upgrade in camera, too!)

This is my All-American dog Lucky

He was just standing under the tree and something caught his attention so I snapped a picture really quick. Maybe I am biased because the picture is of him, but I really liked how the picture turned out. Still don't own photoshop so the only thing done to this photo is minor cropping. Comments and critiques welcome :)

Sorry to hear of your loss of Diva. She looks a lovely pleasant natured dog.

We lost my wifes working German Shepherd in December and couldn't face getting another until about 5 months ago.

My wife has had Ridgebacks previously, before we met, and loves them. Boy can they drool!!!!

Love that last pic. It's just so typical of a ridgey. LOL

kato - thank you for your kindness. She was my very first dog and life just isn't quite right without her. We are considering another Ridgie but won't start seriously looking until after October as I have an overseas holiday planned and I can't miss those first few weeks with a new puppy!

My girls don't drool that much and I haven't seen this before, really? Maybe he's just hot! Dora does foam at the mouth when we walk on the beach because she still isn't convinced sea water isn't for drinking ;)

Paul - that first shot is gorgeous :)

Meet "Tigger"
She passed away after a brief battle with cancer this year - I took a few
pictures of her the day that I learned she had terminal cancer, and this
picture was one of the results. Keep in mind that at the time, I was
taking pictures with a simple "point and shoot" digital. I wish that I had
a better camera when she was still alive. :(
