As some of you know from my first post I just bought a 20D and I want to take it when I go to Yucatan next week. Some have told me that I shouldn't take it because I run the risk of getting it stolen losing it or damaging it. Should I take it? If so then what precautions should I take? If I don't end up taking it then I have my little A95 but it won't compare to having the 20D.

You can always buy insurance.
Here's another thought. It would be a good idea to register the camera with customs on your way out of country. That way, when you come back there will be no way you can be accused of trying to bring in a valuable camera without paying the duty.

have to agree with you there. Buy insurance, camouflage it, put it in an old back pack... but take it!! think about how much more enjoyable vacation will be with the camera.
