A very close game. PLU won by only 2 or 3 points due to many penalties at the end of the game.
This was my second basketball game, and my first in full manual. Thanks to those who encouraged me shoot in manual. It really made a differance!
Please let me know what I can do to improve. Thanks for looking.

Good stuff. Nice and sharp shots! Too bad you cut off feet in some of 'em though.

Feet are a tough thing to keep in basketball as it is such a vertical game. If you look at pubs like SI, feet are often sacrificed on the cropping floor. So yes, do what you can to get them but it's not the end of the world. What you do want to get though on elevation shots is as often as not you will want to have the net and rim in the shot. All your shots here are just peachie....I love number 2... but what is missing is the net. Again, not a huge deal - just something to work toward. On other stuff you did just fine - driving shots have ball in hand, good expressions.... and good contact on number 3. Color Balance looks nice too. For second time out... I wouldn't have any complaints at all.

Which piece of glass did you use to capture these?
the loss of feet in some of these doesn't bother me so much. I prefer the tight shots

Thanks for your comments. In some of these photos the net was actually cropped out to make it a closer shot. Is it more appealing to have a little distance from the player and still include the net? Also, I don't belive I have any shots with the entire net because I was so close, usually I have the bottom 3/4 or so.
Sorry if my questions are weird, but I've been wondering this for a while. I thought the net would be good to have because that's where they're headed, but it sometimes looks distracting up in the corner.

I think they look great. Their expressions are priceless! And the cropped feet aren't that big an issue. Just be careful not to lop off appendages at the joint when you crop.

Hey Chirs - best of all worlds would be to have peak action with some of the net in view - but in cases like your second shot, it is forgiveable.... very forgiveable.

Hey Chris,
I was reading through your (why shoot in manual mode thread) when you linked to this thread as your first manual shoot. It's encouraging to see somone move comfortably to M mode from Tv or Av. I'm a Tv shooter right now. I'm still learning and still trying to figure out exactly how to get a correct exposure in full manual. Great pics albeit a late post :)
