Hello:

Newbie question:

I just transferred 48 pix from G3 to iBook via USB connect... I have nothing to compare transfer time, but transfer seemed sluggish.

What are the factors that govern transfer speed? Please give in order if poss.

Some that occur to me (and I could be off base) are:

- number of pix

- card speed (regular or ultra)

- resolution of pix (I don't know what res mine are, but all were taken in Auto)

- speed of computer processor

Maybe I just have to learn to be more patient.

I don't know what card readers are... How do they fit into the picture (so to speak)?

Thanks,

John

Well I don't think speed of computer really fits..

If you want faster transfer time, you should get a card reader which is a few times faster...

FIRST THING I noticed when I got my new PNY 64mb CF card was that it transfered files way slower than the factory 32mb card that came with my G3. So may the Compact Flash cards make a difference.
