This little flycatcher was nice enough to strike a pose for me as he looked at me with both eyes.

Good work. Sharp, nice catch light in the eye and the background is awesome. Can see spider webs in the tree limbs.

Nice tick I can say that because I can tell you're a birder by the care given to the photos I had my chance at a Say's last year and traded it off to go chase a barn owl Nice capture.

The detail on that bird is awesome, also sufficient DoF, and nice pose.

Both are beautiful photos Paul ..Great details and bokeh. I prefer the first for the detail in the feathers and for the unusual pose. I have noticed lately that many songbirds have that owl like ability to turn their heads alsmost 180 degrees either way. Excellent work!

Very nice Paul, I have to agree as they are nice and sharp with good detail. I prefer the 2nd shot but bothare great, well done.

Thanks Dimitri, I appreciate your help and advice. So far I really like the 400 5.6 prime. :) I was afraid to give up the IS but so far it's no problem.
