I decided to go out late this afternoon and see what I could find. There was a train sitting in Palm Springs, and it looked like they were waiting for a new crew. I didn't notice the revised artwork on the nose until I got home and started processing the photos. Someone has a sense of humor.

This was shot with the 1Ds Mk2 and the 24-105 f/4.0L. I'm starting to like that lens a lot.

This serves as a reminder to always wash fresh vegetables before use - especially those grown underground. This one is as dirty as any freshly-dug onion. :)

Nice shot - I like the scenario. Were you towards the wide end of the lens?

I'd have to go back and check the EXIF data, but I'm sure I was. In fact, there was a fair amount of vignetting I had to remove with ACR during the conversion.

My guess came about because it appears that you were standing in a position where you had to point the camera upward a bit, resulting in a slight inward-tilt to the engine (which is apparently fairly close). I probably wouldn't have noticed the vignetting anyway.

I bet the people on the railroad never noticed it as (I imagine ) it would not be allowed:eek:

the first shot is great Tom
lovely 'long (and into the) distance ' shot
that's a gem you caught with the word
now you will be watching real close to see if there are any other changes on other engines like it
someone was very funny when they done that
