I've just began photographing and made this one about a week ago. What do you think of this picture with a horse's silhouet. I've made two or three more in different poses but with same exposure.

Thanks for your help,

Beautiful shot and nice idea silhouetting the horse like that. Something about it is not quite right though and I'm not sure exactly what it is. The sun seems a bit too blinding perhaps. Or maybe it's the horizon being at the 50% line. I would advise taking 20, 30 or more shots with various compositions and settings and then sitting down and carefully comparing them. I like doing slide shows on my computer. When one is right, you will know it. I take batches of 100 or so at a time and usually 10 are pretty good, 2 or 3 are really good (for my level that is). Good luck!

Thank you very much for your comment, you are correct about the sun it was a bit to blinding but I've tried to underexpose the picture to get a proper silhouet. Now I'm taking more pics of the same object. Here are a few other photo's of the horse in different composition. I guess I can't chose between the pics, maybe you find one better than the other:

I think I like 3.jpg the best. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to crop a small part of the rear of the horse like that or not. I know when you do human portraits, it's usually not good to crop off someone's feet. Try some with the whole animal or with just the head and mane. Also try with the sun a bit lower in the sky and possibly with more dramatic clouds. If you have photoshop or some similar software, you may want to sharpen the image a bit. It seems kind of soft, or was that your intention?

Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
