Does anyone know if I can set the movie mode on my G3 to do time-lapse? I thought it could but I can't find it. I know there's the "intervalometer" to set the camera to take pictures at preset intervals but I don't think that affects the movie mode. Or does it? Any help gratefully received ....

No, the movie mode can't do time-lapse. What you do is use the intervalometer to make a movie from the series of exposures you take.

Have a look at this movie, was made using the time lapse/remote capture feature of the G3 then put together in Quicktime. I think its impressive.

Here's a movie I made from over 300 stills using Remote Capture. If you use the in-camera intervalometer, you are limited to 100 images. I could have done more, but I was getting tired and wanted to go to bed. I made this for my girl's teacher. They were studying heat and energy.
It's a Quicktime movie, so you'll need the viewer (www.quicktime.com) to view it. I made it with Quicktime Pro. It's really easy to make the movie, and you can export it for various intended web connection speeds. This started as a 30 Meg file, and exported for a "DSL/Cable - High" speed, it ended up being a little over 1 Meg.
