Hello,

I'm interested about other people's workflows because of curiousity and to catch something useful to my self too.

My current workflow goes like this:

- Shoot with Canon EOS 10D
- Download photo's to folders sorted by date with Breezesys's Downloader Pro (very nice program! Only conn I find infact is that why oh why isnt there more exif-information available for the filename generation system?)
- Use infranview to delete photos I dont want to keep
- Open photoshop and choose pictures I want add to my web gallery
- Resize to 720x
- Use Pekka's (great) 10D actions
- Save with photoshop's "Save for web" (This looses all the exif information, dont like that too much...:()

What I would like to have is a one big photoshop action or some else system to resize and save all the pictures I have open at photoshop or in a certain folder. Is this possible todo with photoshop actions? How do you people save your jpeg shots for web?

Thanks for your time..

Point me to Pekka's 10D actions. What are they?

I am interested in other people's replies to this also.

I just shoot, download to a folder, use FVU to do some RAW stuff and convert to TIFF or high quality JPG, then go to Photoshop if needed, or go straight to my Epson Film Factory for printing.

EVILMAN:

OK..great..I will do that. So do you use a setting that you prefer for sharpening etc that works well w/ all pics? What are they? I feel like all my pics are unique settings.

Feel free to adjust them to your own taste and needs.

I read lots of things on here that I wonder about. My workflow is incredibly simple, that I wonder why others need more??

I create a folder with subfolders to sort my images into.

Then I use ACDSee to view the images right off my microdrive. Each image is sorted (moved off the drive) into the subfolders or deleted.

Any prints made from these files are manipulated in Photoshop as follows:

-Levels adjusted
-cropped and sized
-Unsharp masked ( 95, 2, 4 )

and sent to the printer.

Colors out of the printer match whats on the laptop screen, although I can see a small difference between the two printers I have. (no customer has noticed)

All images are shot as large jpg, because I usually dont have time to screw around with processing raw images when I have a bunch of customers waiting to view their images.

None of the camera files are modified in any way, and are archived after each event.

Thanks a bunch for all the info, people! Now I'm still interested how do people save their Jpeg's? I usually save with "Save for web" with the rating 70 as resolution is 720x480. Filesizes tend to get pretty big for my webserver space and as I said "Save for web" looses all the exif-info... What is the best way to save jpeg's? And how does your action know which way the photo is when it's resizing it?

Have a look at iview media at http://www.iview-multimedia.com/

I have used it for many years on the mac platform and is now available on the pc. It not only catalogs photos, files, fonts, movies, sounds etc -- supports 10D exif, but also incorpates Web Galleries and Slide Shows. And very easy to create your own templates for the web galleries. You can select images, right-mouse click, open in preferred application. Export images at different sizes, and much more.

One of the best products around for the price.

If you want to save as a jpg and preserve the exif data when in Photoshop, choose "Save As..." from the File menu or hit Shift + Ctrl + S. Then change the Format dropdown to "JPEG (*.JPG,*.JPEG,*.JPE)". After you type a name and click the "Save" button, you will be prompted for JPEG Options which will allow you to change the Matte, Image Options (ie. Quality/Compression), and Format Options. Hope this helps.

Thanks khenn, that part I already cover though. What I'm interested is what people think the best image options quality/comperssion, matte etc. I guess everyone wants to save their photos on the web with good quality with a reasonable size. Sorry for not being clear enough... :)

Here you stated that you use "Save for web", but it looses all of the exif data. I was just telling you that if you use the "Save as..." option instead, you will preserve the exif data.

Yes, thats right, but isnt it quite obvious I already knew that, since I found that the exif-information is missing when saving with "Save for web". ;) Infact I now created an action which uses "Save as". Just interested on peoples settings. :)

Chk out the help in PS7!!

Basically, just go to the actions toolbar, click on the right arrow on the top right, and choose LOAD NEW ACTION and load Pekka's.
