I know like all things, this is probably beaten like a dead horse, but the only reason I ask is because of my new lens...I got the Sigma 100-300mm f/4 which is like 9+in long. I was thinking the Lowepro Nature trekker?? Anyone have one? My equipment is building quick as I am choosing this a profession. I have a 300D/w batterypack(soon to be 20D/w battery pack), Canon 50mm 1.8, Sigma 18-50mm, Sigma 55-200mm, Nikon 35mm, Sigma 100-300mm F/4, Manfrotto Monopod, and want to carry battery charger, cleaning kit, Plus a point and shoot, couple CF's etc. I think a max off $200 should get me a good bag. Rain proof would be nice, the trekker is resistant...... Also I am taking a plane Saturday, will they give me any guff?

check out the show me your camera bag thread for a good idea of what fits in what. Sorry, I haven't tried anything but my Mini Trekker Classic.

Cool...yep looks like the closest think to the nature trekker was the Pro trekker....I need that much space, I don't look forward to the weight!

I have the Naturetrekker and it's pretty big. I'm not sure if the Phototrekker will be accepted as a carry one if you're looking at it.
Here are the internal dimensions for the two, just for comparison:

Naturetrekker - 11.5W x 6D x 16.75H
Phototrekker - 12W x 6D x 19HAs you can see, the main difference is the height of the bag. Everything else looks the same, but I think you get a couple of slip lock bags for both sides when you get the phototrekker. Both bags can be outfited with additional storage since Lowepro carries a wide selection of lens bags for these bags.
The harness system is very good, allowing you to adjust just about everything. The only thing I don't like about it so far is the lack of easily accessible storage on the outside of the bag (like the Tamrac Expedition series has). I'll probably supplement my bag with either a vest or some external compartments for easy access.

Have you thought of Tamrac Exped 5/7 or KATA 103? I am in similar predicament (se Sig) and am leaning towards the KATA, I had considered the Nature Trekker but I think its too big. But then again, I don't expectmy kit list to grow much more ...

Nice site...Im thinking the nature trekker still, for a few reasons...My equipment is gonna keep growing and growing, I need a bag by Sunday(so I don't have a place to get a KATA...It might not be big enough anyway). It would be nice to save over $120 for a Tamrac Expedition 3, but it still just looks to small.....Im going thursday to do some hands on research/buying. :o

I liked the look of the Expedition 7, which is comparable in size to the Naturetrekker. The reasons I didn't go for it is: it was more expensive; I didn't like the cover over the zipper, which I found gets caught up; the Naturetrekker has a built-in rain cover and weather proof zippers. If only we could mix and match designs, eh?? Like I said, I'll be buying a few accessory pockets for quick access to memory cards, filters, etc..

Yeah the rain zippers are nice, and cover......Cause I will be "trekkin" rain snow sun! From the looks of that site, the Tamrac 787? says its the largest carry on size made....And its bigger then the trekker so.....
