Need some help, Have a G3 and a Tamrac Digital 6 bag. Then went a bought the TCON17 teleconverter and the Canon Wide angle lens, plus 2 adapters. It won't all fit in the Tamrac bag. So I ought a Tamrac digital 6 bag, still doesn't fit.

I'd like to keep the adapters attached to the lenses so that I don't have to screw and unscrew, just use the bayonet mount.

Any suggestions on a bag about the same size as the digital 8 (10"x6"x6" roughly)

ps live north of the border and need to get this is less than 2 weeks.

PSS the lenses are great. Used this forum to make my decision.

I went through the same thing as you when I bought my wide and tele converters. The only bag I could find that would hold all converters nicely with the adapters attached were the knapsack type ones. The one I ended up getting was the Lowepro Micro Trekker 200, which was more than enough space.

I also tried the bigger shoulder-type bags that fit the converters but getting access to the them were not as easy as the knapsack ones.

I know the people at Lensmate say the Lowepro Mini Nova holds the G3 with Lensmate adapter attached.

I just bought the Lowepro Nova 3 AW. It holds my G3 with the 52mm adaptor...58 mm adaptor with my TCON-17 teleconverter...420EX flash...battery charger and cables...cards.... It is a snug fit but I would rather have a tight fit than a loose one. I do not want my equipment to move around a lot.

I went cheap on my bag and regret it. Got a Quantaray "Sport Pak" bag made with material that looks like the Nova bags and has nice foam padding, velcro-fixed dividers and various pockets. I really liked the overall design, even the shoulder strap. The only problem is with the zippers! Sometimes when the equipment bulges against a closed zipper seam, an opening develops. :(

I bought the Lowepro Micro Trekker 200 backpack and love it. You can keep everything attached including flash. Plenty of room for all the extras and easy to travel with.

I suggest the Lowepro Nova 2 or 3. I purchased the 2 and fits my G3 with attached 52mm adapter along with wide-angle and telephoto lenses. Has enough room to eventually fit a 420ex.

Get any Crumpler camera bag. I have the Oh-Lord and currently fit my g3, eos 300 (rebel 2000 for you yanks), minidisc player, 8 mini discs, glasses case, umbrella, and documents in it. They are far less obvious as camera bags than the main branded ones like lowepro, nicer colours and more stylish too.

I beleive they are a lot more durable as well. USA site is at www.crumplerusa.com.

For those with the Lowepro Nova bags, got a question:
I've been considering the Nova 3 from B&H Photo.
But the pic on the B&H site is different from the pic on Lowepro's site.
Here's what Lowepro shows:
http://www.lowepro.com/pages/series/nova/nv_three.htm

Here's what B&H shows:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh3/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=279078&is=REG

The one on the Lowepro site is much nicer looking.
Could someone take a look at these and let us know if the one on B&H's site is just the wrong pic?

Thanks!

The one shown at the B&H site seems to be a new product as it's listed as an all-weather (AW) type.

PFlor is correct. I just bought the Nova 3 last night. The floor model they had was the old model and when they gave me one from stroage it was the new one. (Like B&H has) AW stands for "All Weather" there is an attached cover that you pull out and it covers the bag giving it more protection from the rain.

I have tried 4 different bags. All from lowelpro. While they were all nice, I neglected to forsee the various attachments I would buy for the camera. I finally convinced the store I got them from to take them back, as I had them less then 3 weeks.

I ended up buying a larger bag than intending, however it turned out to be a fortunate mistake. I bought, from the same store, a RoadWired bag. The thing is great. It has enough room for all my stuff, from the extra lenses and filters to my video camera (also canon) and tape rewinder. Since both cameras use the same power supply and battery, I only need to carry one. It carries my flash, extra tapes, batteries, lens cloths, manuals and cords and more... I now only have one bag, and still have room. BTW, it is completly customizeable in the main compartment. It also has a waterproof zipper top under the main flap.

Worth a look at.

Thanx... I'll look at the Crusher bags and the Lowepro Nova's.

Much appreciated to all. This makes the whole process so much easier....
