I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question.

I was just wonding if my little collection of lenses is on the right track of what I want to do with them (check my signature). I do a lot of different types of shooting so I want a good variety of lenses in order to do what I want to do.

Here is what my idea is:

16-35L: Low light indoor, portrait, landscape, indoor/outdoor conventions, group photos, walk around

28-135 IS: 2nd walk around, action shots, just for the hell of it

50mm: portrait, low light

18-55: something to sell

and I was thinking of getting the 70-200L IS for the candid/city shots and some action shots/low light shots.

Is this a good mix and is there something else that I might want to consider other than what I have now? I just got the 16-35L Friday and haven't really had a chance to really try it out yet, but I'm impressed with the colors that it can produce.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

In the company of the 16-35L and the 70-200L you will be very disappointed by the 28-135mm consider the 24-105mmL instead.

I returned my 16-35 , depends on how low you like your light but 2.8 wasn't fast enough for me. I use primes for my candids 35 1.4/ 50 1.4 i have used longer 85 and 135 but i much prefer shorter lengths for street shots & candids.

You only have one prime, i think an 85 1.8 would be a good addition to your set up

i second that. if you have the cash to go L then go L and the 24-105L will be the closest to match the 28-135 in focal length

If you're going to stick to zooms and you want the fastest you can get, then i'd say these three would serve you well

16-35
24-70
70-200

I'd go that route as well from an IQ POV unless my thing really was portraits or candid street shooting in which case I'd go the prime route. The 28-135mm IS is Ok ('nuff said!) but I think you'll soon become frustrated with it compared to the 2 L's.

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking of replacing my 28-135 with another lens. I would like to go with primes, but I really want to keep my setup as portable as possible. I hate leaving lenses if I think that I may not need them and get on location and see that I do need one that I left!

I know that the 16-35mm really isn't a very low light lens and that primes would be better, but again I want the flexability and also being able to frame a subject without moving (at times).
