#2 has a very nice feel to it.
#1 is a little too cheesy IMO.

I have looked at both your posts and you have some nice shots, but I think they are missing that nice pop...
If you allow image editing, I'll have a go with these...I like fiddling with B&W photos...

I like the second one - cheezy or not... it has some connection with me - the viewer. Their faces look a bit too pale - maybe try to "burn" their faces and her hand, so you see her engagement ring better... just to give them just a bit of a tan. The rest of the b/w conversion looks nice! (A really quick way to do that is to go into Selective colors, choose white and pull the "black" lever to about +50 to get more tone in their faces, and then choose the burn tool and burn just a tad on the hand - with the brush set to about 10% Highlights).

Great shoots, what a place to start. I bet the couple will be very happy with any of the four shots.

I like #2 but, I don't know that i'd pay for them.. If you did them as a favor I would be thrilled, but IMO not up to par for something worth selling.
You have a good eye.. keep shooting

I am not sure that is correct at all...
in fact, these are certainly worth money IMO
Anyway below is a punched up version of what you did, I quickly took the bags under their eyes away and did a little selective USM to bring out some of the deail...let me know what you think...
Cheers,

symes, sorry we disagree, I wasn't trying to be mean, or condescending in any way and I do apologize if it was taken that way.
I'm in a pissy mood and I apologize if i went rough, I think you have a great eye, just needs a little bit more IMO

I am curious what more you would want??
Please don't take this as an attack...I am also trying to learn...I am just curious what the OP is missing here??

Much better than the looking away ones. Her smile is still a little hesitant.

Sorry I'm a little late with my slant on the photo, hope you don't mind me experimenting with your work ricohcam01 but it does appear you don't mind in this case.

Seriously? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but... this doesn't look anything at all better than the original photos - it's probably never a good idea to change the color or hue of peoples faces to anything other than sepia or BW - blue makes them look like aliens. :)

Not one for change or something different then Cameron, Picasso will be turning in his grave (or was he cremated?).
Sorry! I didn't realise we were supposed to be trying to improve on the originals, that wasn't what I was trying to do as the originals seem pretty darn good to me as they are. Nope; as I stated I was just experimenting and thought I'd show the result, improvement was never my intent; just different. If you're not fond of the last one then you'll hate this one, but again just trying something different that might be of interest to someone. I have narrowed her cheeks a little to give her face a slightly longer look and had to do a little burning on the high contrast areas of the faces, if it offends anyone I'm sorry and it can be quickly removed.

The B&W conversion could use some work to make it look more of the film style B&W, I don't have PS here at work so I can't do anything right now sorry. :(

I think the originals are pretty good, but Cyberet seems to have nailed it down just that little bit more.
There's nothing wrong with a little cheese when it comes to wedding memories (not that i find them cheesy in the first place - i like them).
