Hi, i'm currently new to this Camera S2 IS.
I noticed using "Manual mode" to focus would be better.
I read from website, MF is useful for low light situation, set subject to distance to bring subject into sharp focus, as AF is not always perfect.
but this MF Indicator which i'm confuse. what's the m & cm for?
I'll tired using MF but it wil always shoot 3 times.
Any one know how to change to shooting only 1 image instead of 3?
I read the manual book, actually read though few times, but got confuse.
Anyone can advise? n can i get the effect of the attached pic? which taken from a DSLR cam.

m = Meters
cm = Centimeters :)
If its shooting 3 shots at once it sounds like you have bracketing turned on, which I didn't know the S2 did.

You estimate or measure how far away your subject is (where you want the sharpest focus) and set it accordingly.
m and cm are internation units of measure if your unsure, used by about 95% of the world :)
You can also use the LCD to check sharpness, my A80 has a selectable mode that magnifies the centre of the LCD and gives you a good idea of how in focus the image is, the S2 might have something similar, but Im not familar with the S2.

yes, the S2 does bracketing. And you can change the m-cm to in-ft somewhere in the setup menu if that is easier for you.

The vending machine in the back is too bright, but the pic looks nice. Hmmm, I looked at it again and the juice box does not look in focus totally.

I have found that it's pretty hard to get the focus these cameras correct. The guesswork can get you close, and using the LCD can get you almost there, but it's still not good enough to get it perfect without taking multiple pictures. If I could get a true manual focus, as in a MF lens, for my camera it would have everything I want.
