Took this shot at the Sydney aquarium = I was really pleased with the shot, as it was taken through a glass walled enclosure, with artificial light :), and from a distance.

Very nice! At first I thought it was an abstract, but then my eyes found the ... eyes. I like this!

I would be VERY pleased with this result myself. I like this very much also. I can't find much really to say about technique (i.e., my amateur eyes find nothing to critique), but I love the fact that your subject is hard to notice and well camoflaged despite the fact that he is right there! Its almost scary!

Very well done, it took me a moment to see the 'eyes' as well. Motionless and waiting patiently. You've captured this predator very well.

Peter

An unusual and striking shot.
It typifies much of our dread of these creatures.

Very well done

Rel, very nicely done! You have a very sharp eye on the gator which is perfect. Keep sending pics like this :)

Hi Tim
Rel took this shot in an aquarium, so I guess the creature could
come from anywhere. I've seen the same species in the
Berlin Zoo.
Rel is the expert so hopefully she'll enlighten us :)

Kind regards

Just a quick response seeing I'm at work - :)
The crocodile is the esturine croc :Crocodylus porous, which occurs further north and west in Australia, south-east Asia and India, I think there are several subspecies.

And thanks for everyones' response to my photo :) I really appreciate it - as someone learning, it is so important to get feedback on your photos.

And thanks Hal - you always give me a boost :)

Great shot, and even the same problem -that many people see too lait the eyes or the croc...
Becorse - if we open our lens - and there is more unsharpness in the back - the visitor will see the right spot..
And i think never present the most important thinks in the middle...
Its better - for more power if there is a 2 to 3 part..

I dont now how the right word in english, in german it is the "Goldener Schnitt" - but more creativity is break the rules..

I think the most importent think for the photography is studying composition....

Conk = Steve Irwin???? LOL

Tenerife - thanks for your comments. I was thinking of bluring the background, in order to lead the eye to the 'eye', but was worried if I did, I would ruin the beautiful way this croc blends with it's surrounds.... I'll have a play and see what I come up with.
