I trying something new next week--I will be attending the National Association of Nature Photographers in Denver, CO. It's the first time it has been here and I am looking forward to seeing the work of some of the masters. Any other POTN folks attending? I would love to meet up if so.

I've been a member for a few years,. but alas have never attended any of there sessions.. they are allways in places and at times that I can not attend. Have fun though and tell us what goes down. I'd be interested to see what you think.

My first day here. I spent all day in an excellent workshop on photoshop workflow by Tim Grey. Met Arthur Morris briefly and spent all spare time talking shop with advanced amatures and professionals. Already a great experience and I have 3 more days. I'll keep folks posted if anything unique or startling comes up, but already a highly recommended experience.

Today offered lectures by Jon Canfield, and lectures and slide shows by Jack Dykinga and John Fielder. The Canon booth is awesome--you get to see and handle everything! Same for the Gitzo, Bogen and Giottos boothes. I've never really been able to compare tripods like that before. Belmondo, next year's summit will be in your neihborhood. A good change to add to your box collection. The evening ended with member's slide shows--really inspirational--and humbling.

Well, I'm home from the Nanpa convention. I feel like I was a kid in a candy store. You literally get to try every lens and camera body Canon has ( well, not the 1200mm!). You get to see every tripod and most heads that are available. You get to meet and hear lectures from world class phototgraphers. And most fun of all, you are around 700 other folks who want to talk about photoagrahy as much as you do! I problably would have never joined and gone if the convention had not been in my back yard, but it was truly a once in a life time opportunity. Next year's will be at Indian Wells, California--near Palm Springs (and lost tripods). For those of you on the west coast, this is well worth the money. You can even attend on a day by day basis. Anyone wanting more info can PM and I'll be happy to tell you more.
