Here are images of the Bellamy Brothers at the Maverick Saloon. I would guess that a lot of you have heard of these guys, but perhaps not! :-)

I will just remind everyone that these were shot with a Fuji S2 Pro and Nikon glass. Please feel free to edit and repost or critique or complain. :-) And once again, I am posting these to demonstrate that I don't do any better than anyone else (and maybe worse) in normal "club" conditions.

As usual a good session. I like the watermark too.
This one stands out to me. ( I would PP out the blue slash near his neck.)

Back up - these are from 2004?

Carzee, yes, pretty early on in my Live Entertainment career! The blue slash and little colored dots are part of his brother's gear who is standing closer to me ... those who know them would probably recognize that and forgive me, but I did contemplate it at the time.

The dots are fine. Why the delay?

Carzee, first, I was not a member here until last February, so it would have been tricky to post them right after they were taken ... which I don't think is a requirement here. And second, as noted in my commentary, I want to show that I do not do any better than anyone else under like circumstances. I get a lot of "flack" for posting only perfect images from my casino work and it makes me nervous to feel that other photographers here feel that I have some special talent the puts me above them somehow. So I am posting these ... and there are worse ones on my website, sigh. I generally won't post "outtakes" from the casino as it would not be professional ... I'm not a TV reality show. Oh, and there are actually some fans out there who like to see their celebrities on the big screen ... or at least their screen.

I understand -I asked that thinking you had got a request from The B Bros for more prints or something.

3 and 5 are nice. Too bad about the red lights in the rest of the shots

Thanks, Exit, the lighting at small venues just isn't very good! Perhaps I should try some custom white balance but I somehow think the changing light would make that useless.

Yes I feel your pain. There isn't much you can do ;)

Ahh, Dwight, a breath of fresh air. Finally pictures that are almost down to the level I still can't attain, but getting closer.:)
Be sure to tell me who's been giving you flack for posting perfection. I'll get on their case pronto.

Heard of them!? They're legends! We had them do a live event for us in Grapevine a few years back and they are outstanding. Great pics.

Tpetty, yes they are ... but mostly in the country world! The older ones girlfriend was at this concert ... I think she must be all of 21!

How do professional musicians handle the photography? Like with famous actors you are not supposed to take their pics without their permision right? Do musicians have the same problems with photographers?

Super, you are not supposed to take pictures of anyone without their permission, famous or not. Everyone has trouble with photographers. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking or even why you are asking me ... I'm not famous. If you are asking if I have permission to shoot the people I shoot, yes, I have permission. What I can do with the images after I have is another very complicated issue about which I am not really qualified to address properly.

Thanks Dwight!
This venue looks a little more like what I will have to deal with for awhile!
Your just an "Old Hippy", see if you catch the reference!

Tay, that is "You're" and I have no clue as to the reference! If it alludes to some musical thing, I am not a musical person! :-) I have a bunch of shots these venues here in Performing Arts ... just do a search on threads I have started in this forum.

yea, sorry...I was doing three things at once! You are an "Old Hippie"!
You should listen to that song by these guys, I've seen them a few times. In fact I have a guitar pic in my wallet I got last year at a show they did.

Just pulling your chain! The old ones girlfriend is about 25, very sweet and had braces on when I met her while shooting. I thought she was his daughter (people sometimes think my wife is my daughter and my daughter my granddaughter) but she cleared that up, very sweetly, too. I'm sure I could have grabbed a stack of picks if I'da known you were interested. :-)

I would LOVE a pick collection! It would be way cool if you could get some from the artist! I wish I had thought about that on the Brooks and Dunn show!

Well, it would be easy for the Maverick concerts but not for the casino concerts where I don't get near to or to speak to the talent! :-)
