I shot this one at SummerFest while I was in Milwaukee. I've adjusted contrast and upped the saturation a bit. I'm wondering what you guys think.

I like it. I would have liked to see the cars on the right side as well.

very nice picture.
its hard to capture wheels like it.
I took one of the'eye' of london and I know its hard

I would think that if the fluffy clouds behind were blown away, just this time,
it would look better
as ,
what with the 'very' red centre piece its all a little bit much there.
or else make the red a lot less and let the two get on together much better then they are at the moment

:)

Thank you again Marie. Yes, I'm having a little fun playing around with increasing the saturation on my photos. I have a few I took up there that I've intentionally overdone it a bit to see the effect. This is one of them. Initially the red and blue were rather boringly bland so I played and came up with this. I'll try some other adjustments and see what I can come up with. As for the clouds, aside from painting them out, I'm out of luck as I'm back in Dallas now and cannot reshoot it.

I do not have any real problem with this photo. I hope that you took about 6 shots to give yourself some selection options.

I especially like the shot when it is flipped horizontally. This provides the left to right motion that speeds the eye's upward voyage to the sky. Even though the clouds are there, on the flipped version, the viewer is more conscious of the blue that complets the right vertical frame.

I like the bright red and deep blue. However, I wish there were some screaming people hanging off the edge, and perhaps some varied motion-postionning of each car.

Also, I would have liked one trial shot to have included a few more gondolas. SO too, at first I thought that I might have taken a position that allowed "red legs" to hold up both sides of the image... but then I decided that that might take away form the "flight & fright".

Thank you Leighow for your comments. I've tried flipping the photo horizontally as you say and initially it's confusing to me as I'm already used to it being that way but I think I see what you are talking about.

As for the screaming people, it's interesting how different people view things in different ways. My analytical mind was intrigued by the lines and design and colors of the wheel. I wasn't looking for the fright and excitement. Of course I think the riders were much more sedate thanks to the libations of Miller Brewing Company and the many local micro breweries present at Summerfest.

As far as more shots....I only got two. Of course helping my friend chase her two year old around doesn't allow a whole lot of time for picture taking unless he's hamming it up for the camera! I'll be sure to try some of your suggestions the next time I get the opportunity though.
