This one is at 39mm (so pretty close). I've posted it earlier in the thread, but it's my most recent at or close to 40mm:

No odds to me.
I'd take a prime at 16 or 17mm with cracking IQ and a 2.8 aperture. The 17-40 would be gone in the blink of an eye...

They are nice - I've seen appraisals on a couple of them, and the replacement values were... quite high. Even more impressive, I've seen some pics of the store from 20+ years ago, and I was surprised to see some of the same rugs. It's amazing how little they've deteriorated in such an abusive environment.

The real hand-woven wool ones wear like iron and will last for many, many years.
I lived in Tehran for two years back in the mid 1970s and seeing how they washed and dryed the rugs was one of the most unusual things I've ever seen.
Roll it out in the street, hose it down, scrub it with a coarse push broom and let cars drive over it to squeegie out the water!!!
I've got three left from the dozen or so we brought home. One small, One Runner and one quite large done (so we were told) on Spec for the Shah's wife and she passed. If the appraisles are correct, it will pay for a portion of my retirement. ;)

Ok couple of things its not HDR its a replicated Color Infra Red Film print. This was actually shot in June, so the leaves switched from Green to Yellow by way of a digital filter.
If you like it cool, if you don't too bad- i just wanted to post something a little different for a change.

With regard to offering opinions of other people's stuff, I like to work under the following axion; If you really like the work, say so! If you don't; move on. Most folks get the idea pretty quickly if no one says anything that perhaps their efforts need to take a different approach.
Beyond all of that, these threads are for showing examples of what can be done with a given lens with and without post processing. And sometimes you can learn more about looking at a picture that you don't like then you can from one you do. It's all good!
Cheers!

Thanks. Yes, they're HDR.

Took this one Sat while we were waiting in line at Whistler Sat morning. It's kind of a joke shot of my friend sporting his moose touque and his movember mustache (hence "moose"stache).

Gotta add some for this lens. Can't see myself ever selling this, no matter how badly I want the 17 TS-E. Check my Flickr for higher res versions of all shots: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ken2000ac/
Most are recent, some are older. Don't think I have shared any of them before here.

I love this image, great colours & scenery. Was it taken with a Canon 5D? I'm thinking about splurging on a full frame, but can't decide whether to buy a 5D or 5D2. I would appreciate any advice from my fellow POTN friends.

Yes, This is shot with the Canon 5D. The 5D and EF 17-40mm lens are made for fun, I almost always feel like I'm playing when I have this combo in hand. If you look closely at the Lake Huron waters, on the horizon, there is a Great Lakes freighter in the Tawas Bay. Thanks for your positive comments.
