Sick shot, can you tell us more about the lightning setup?

Sorry for extremely slow reply!! I ran around the subject waving my sparklers till then went out, then I ran around him firing my Speedlight on 1/4th power and fired it from behind just as I ended the exposure like it does on rear curtain flash! It didn't turn out the best but I'm still happy with it :)

I really like this one, the water looks amazing.

Gonna pick this lens up in a few hours. Sold my 7D + Sigma 10-20mm a few months ago and miss the wide angle fun. Hope this'll be similar on the 5DII

Hi, Tawhai Falls are on Mt Ruapehu, a couple of kilometres below Whakapapa Village (the Chateau). A very easy 5 minute walk from the road.

Question, the 17mm on this lens on my 5DMKII as opposed to the 17mm on the EF-S 17-55 on my 7D. How much wider would I be getting with this lens plus the 5D? Would it be the same because isn't the EF-S lenses on a crop body designed to give you the "17mm" equivalent field of view on a full frame? I am a bit confused by this. I know putting this lens on the 7D gives you an equivalent of "27mm", but I do not think the EF-S lenses on a crop do that...or so I think.

EF-S lenses are not "adjusted" to give "equivalent" field of view. A 17mm EF lens looks the same on a crop body as an EF-S lens. Its going to be roughly the equivalent to the field of view of that a 10mm lens would provide on your crop camera. In other words its a heckuva lot wider.

i don't even know that 17-40L have the capability to do this, i thought need to use fish eye lens.

These were the last shots of a very long shoot and my batteries on the flashes were dying, I made them jump like 20 times and this was the best the could do LOL :)

Yep. However, what I will be using this lens for, f/2.8 is almost irrelevant. For any low light shots at a wedding reception I will be using the 35L unless I absolutely must have an UWA shot.

Also, I just purchased this lens. Should have it sometime next week.

+1. I would much rather have the slower f4 UWA and compliment it with a 35 L for low light work such as wedding receptions.
