Hello,

It is about a month to my projected date of EOS 10D purchase (Aug 10, 2003)! Now as a long time user of LinearSharpen on D30, I am wonder if the action is out or when?

TIA.

Griffin.

P.S. My D30 is kept as the 2nd body.

Pekka -- I'm also anxious to learn of progress on the 10D Linear Sharpen. I'm quite happy with my 10D, but really miss LS.

Good luck with your cam Griffin!

When the 10D came out and Pekka first got his, there was a problem with the Canon Software that made conversions from .crw files to linear tiffs. So Pekka could not create LS for the 10D. Canon (I think) have still not resolved this issue. But anyway, while he was waiting for a resolution from Canon, Pekka tried Phase One's C1LE software. He was so pleased with it that he said he wouldn't be bothering to update LS for the 10D. (I hope I've go that right, Pekka. :D )

You might want to have a look at C1LE (Capture One DSLR Limited Edition), you can try it free for 15 days.

Hmm, I think the vote is heavily on the side of C1LE for those who've tried both, (but it's not unanimous :) ).

There is not much to resolve, the 10D capture range is only about 8 f/stops so it is not a software issue but hw (sensor or the digic processor).

Proof? I have heard this since D30 days. What is "8 f/stops"? Do 1Ds have this problem too? I don't know why people still bring this up! NM.
