Looks like it might actually happen. :)

EDIT: Oops. I thought I posted this in the Rumor forum originally. My bad.

Photokina is in September, so if anything it will be announced there.

Yeah, I started this thread back in February. Revived it because of this new "revelation". ;)

yeh, and I just bought a non-is one !......all I can hope for is that the is one is way more expensive therefore justifying my purchase!...ha ha

but seriously, if it is as good as the non is f4 70-200 it will be a really fantastic lens

Don't worry Doc. It will be. It should be priced around the same range of the 24-105 f/4 IS. You did good, since you'll have many more pictures before it even hits the store. :)

ooooooooooowch.

That would be what, approximately $1.2K? I remember the 24-105 f/4L was hell on the wallet. At that price I would shell out the extra $400 for the f/2.8 or no go at all.. for that price I have both a 70-200 f/2.8 Sigma and 70-300 IS USM.

nah! reckon I'll just keep my non-is, I tend to use it in bright light anyway!

gotta say I fancy a 50 f1.2 though, I had an FD 50 f1.2 ssc on an old F1 a while back, that lens really rocked, I loved it though it was a heavy lump of glass!

100 macro is next up for me tho', want to try my hand at the bugs and bees!, only managed this so-far with a 300f4is
