You don't have to use it, but you just can't have too much light available IMO. ;)

I have heard some guys put two 1600 AB on a football field. And it wasn't enough. :D :D :D

The price difference wasn't an issue for me, and I went for AB800s. 1600s on minimum are twice as bright as 800s.

Nope. I guess you'd have a bit of a going brighter than the sun in direct sunlight no matter what strobes you use.
