These shots were from an adult full contact game in Missoula friday night between the Missoula Cutthroats and the Great Falls Slufoots. The shots were taken through the glass as I really like the perspective from the end of the rink so I can be straight on with the offensive action coming towards me. All shots were with the Canon 70-200 at 2.8. Comments and criticism appreciated.

Pretty good for shots throught the glass. Maybe try a little noise filtering but otherwise nice action.

Good pictures... I'm looking myself for a 70-200mm f/2.8 for my 350 D. Are you satisfied? Right now I'm using my 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 for arena pictures...

In that fourth pic the Cutthroat guy is about to be hooked (more like whacked!) by the blue guy...great shot!

Good pictures... I'm looking myself for a 70-200mm f/2.8 for my 350 D. Are you satisfied? Right now I'm using my 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 for arena pictures... Thanks, glad you liked them. I'm very satisifed with the 70-200mm 2.8. Without it there is no way I would be shooting hockey at my local rink. The autofocus is fast and the detail is very good. Many say that the Sigma is a very good lens for the money as well. Good luck.

In that fourth pic the Cutthroat guy is about to be hooked (more like whacked!) by the blue guy...great shot! The third and fourth images are in sequence, before and after he goes around the defensman. They are my favorite shots of the game and I love the expression on the players face who was just beat. Glad you liked them.

My parents live in Hamilton MT and we spent a nuumber of years in Superior MT. I went online to try and find a Cutthroat jersey to buy (since I LOVE hockey) but couldnt find anything....

Yeah, the cutthroats are just an adult team made up of players from Missoula's adult "A" league. They play a few tournaments and exhibition games in the northwest. I live just north of Hamilton in Lolo. Small world...
