Hello all,
I would be new here, I suppose some newbie ragging is in order. I am new to the digi world as well so there is a strong possibilty that I'll ask some seemingly benign questions:rolleyes: :o so bear with ...please! At any rate my passion for the outdoors lead me to pursue a long interest in photography and I'm keen on being good at it. I recently purchased my first real camera, a digi rebel xt which I love so far (cheap kit lenses and all). It came with a printer (pixima 6220) that seems to be great at its job to my untrained eye at least.

First dumb question: Is this how I'm supposed to post a pic on here?

Iron Grip: Welcome! Lots of good info at this site.

As for your question — Dumb?

Nothing dumb about it!

I've posted pics on several Web forums — and I'm a moderator for photo sharing and bird watching on one forum where I post many images — and I tried to follow the guidelines here and kept shrinking and shrinking and shrinking, and by the time I got the image down to the threshold size, it was so low-resolution it wasn't worth posting. I e-mailed an inquiry that went unanswered, so I'll settle for posting words.

The easiest way to post a pic is to upload it to a photo sharing site like smugmug or pbase or your own site if you have one. This way you can leave it in at a larger size that when you attach it to your post. Then when you want to post it here, use the insert image tool. It's under advanced options when you post in exsisting threads and will be in the tools at the top of the text box if you start a new thread.
Hope that helps out.

Welcome to the Forum! We're all here to learn and impart learning... so, there are no dumb questions... but before asking them, search through the threads or stickies... I'm sure that you will find answers... well, maybe 90% of the time!

Cheers!
