I just bought my 20D the other day to upgrade from my 300D and was shocked to find out that for a wireless remote you have to pend $700 bucks. This camera is 3 steps up from my Rebel and i missing a something that even the 350XT has what could be the reaon for this be ?

The reason? That's hard to say.
But for the kinds of shots that you'll want to use a wireless remote for, like group self-portraits, the 300D will do just fine.

For tripod use behind the camera, you'll find the wired remote switch much easier to use.

The RS-80N3 works just fine by me. Don't need no stinking wireless. ;) Really though, why would you need it anyway? If it's group photos you're worried about just set the drive mode to self-timer. I'm sure you have your reasons for wanting it though. ;)

I agree....I also think its a bit odd. I wouldn't expect it on a 1D or anything, but the 20D is still in a price range that is accessible to consumers/amateurs/moms.
I think that is one of the few reasons I may ang on to my 300D

I like everything else about the camera and it definatally takes a better pic that my 300D it is just werd to go up 3 cameras and lose options.

I use the wireless remote with my G5 for family portraits (casual) and love it, wish my 20D did the same.
