When I look at the photo, I see the boys first. It makes you wonder what they are looking at. My eye then wandered over to the dolphin. It is interesting.
The only question I have is, what does the effect add to the photo? What did it look like before the effect? I can't figure out the motivation or emotion you desired to convey with the effect applied.

I'll have to agree with YogaD. I don't really care for the effect.

Thank you for posting this image.
I really like to see members trying different effects
aside from posting more or less straight images.
The experimental shots may no all be successful but
that doesn't matter.
If we don't try we will never improve.... and at least some of
the time those of us who are interested, should do more
than always record straight images.
Keep posting these as well as your lovely model shots, Tenerife.
Mis felicitaciones

Klaus, I like this, as I do all of your work. The effect is most unusual and the more I look at it the more I like it.
The composition is excellent and the colours vivid.

Peter

Hi yogad, the boys are finish with here "music"... looking in the water... the delphin comes with interest looking to the boys...
it is part of a projekt... music and animals...
It is my way to give my photos some of my emotions - with manipulation - with PS 7 or what ever..
Before a long time i make multivision shows - only with music- no comments - thats whas my way that the viewer can feel my emotions...
Now i try to doo the same with the manipulations, i try to give my photos more of my emotions...
And i now - the same as by a movie or multivision show - some people understand - other not - thats the way..
I work - everyday a lot with taking pictures - comercial - but i try to relax with manipulate my pictures...
I try to do experimental work - becorse thats the way of digital photography... becorse everybody can doo it...
And thats great - try it..
You have a great galery with fantastic pictures from the south west of the USA - i went there in the beginnings of the 70/ 80... i whas in every NM NP and have taking great photos...many looking like Postcards, Calenders
many are fore sale in agencys - but i lost my archive in flooden water.. 25 Yeras photography work..
Now i only want to do experiment - only whant to shot photos for today - and whant to give them my emotions...
If people like it or not - what shall i say.....?
Thanks for you comments - and sorry for my bad english..
Regards from Tenerife

I really enjoy your input here and for the most part your photos are exceptional. Keep them coming my friend. :)

Klaus, I keep going back to this image and admiring it. As Eland so eloquently states the case for different interpretations and experimentation in photography rather than merely recording a moment in time, this photo represents that view admirably.
Please keep posting these Klaus.

Klaus,
thanks for the compliment. Don't misunderstand me. I did like the composition and the subject matter. I just did not understand what you were trying to do with the effect. The emotion that I get from the photos is one of "summer heat" perhaps because that is what photos look like when then melt from fire or the sun (sometimes).
Keep posting. It is different...not the same old same old.

Klaus, I really like what you did here. It's not mainstream, therefore IMHO it's cool :)

You change a documentary shot into artwork, I don't need extra info for me to enjoy it. I like making my own conclusions.
