I borrowed my brothers A60 to take on a trip. During the trip it worked no problem. After returning, and trying to upload the images, the compact flash card appears blank. Both cards did this. When inserted back in the camera, it says "memory card error" and won't allow me to take a picture. Thinking maybe the xray damaged the cards, I purchased another card. It went right into the camera and worked like it was supposed to. Then when it was put in the image mate reader, the card didn't show any data. And it says memory card error when put in the camera.
I've tried to use the camera to reformat the cards, but it doesn't work, and will still display the error message. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

The card reader messed up your cards. Try another card reader. Try running a recovery program if you're still getting errors, before formatting. Best luck!

Thanks for the suggestion, althought I didn't mention it, I have tried in 2 seperate readers. I will try to use the built in reader on my computer at work, and see it that makes a difference. I don't have anything on the card I can't lose, I just want my camera to work again.

That's really odd. It may be the camera then. Grab a magnifier to check for a bent pin inside the CF compartment in the camera.
