POTN Powershot Speed Challenge #5 - Texture
Challenge #5 is Texture. Your image should make me want to reach out and touch the screen! Or maybe your image seems so real that I can almost "feel" it with my eyes.
You may choose to use colour to enhance the realism of your shot; or you may prefer to go black & white, concentrating on the shadows and highlights of the texture you're photographing. It's entirely up to you!
Best of luck to you all! :)
To submit, click "Post Reply" and put your Photo Name in the Subject Line. Don't forget your Camera Model.

Ansh, you got there just in time! ;) The submission date has now passed, so further entried cannot be considered for the competition.
I'm going to consider all the entries over my sandwiches, and I'll come back with the winners' list shortly.

I found this week's challenge very hard to judge! There were several nice images, but choosing the top three was tricky, and ordering them was even more difficult. However, I have deliberated, cogitated and, digested (my sandwich, that is), and here are the final results:
1. Gone with the Wind, by hhf
2. Mr. Krusty Beak, by snowrdr
3. Veganism, by Diminished29
Thanks to everyone who entered, and congratulations to our top three! :)
I'm already looking forward to Challenge #6, to be set by hhf. :D

Wow, didn't know if I'd pull it off or not with those last two entries. Great judging Simon, you had me thinking all week, I have you know though I was very inspired by Dave's cookies and your Chocolate Fondue that I just couldn't help myself, but remind you guys to eat healthy this week.
Great job hhf, awesome picture! Great job to you too Dave, but I think you already know your a great photographer, maybe just maybe thats why your way out in the lead in the challenge rankings!
Again, great job everybody it was fun. Now hhf bring on #6!

Congrats hhf on your 1st place entry! Nice work!
Thank you Simon for voting me into 2nd place. I was able to get real close to that Great Blue Heron and follow him as he walked the edge of the water.
Nice shot Chad and congrats on your entry. Thanks for the reminder... :D
Chad, you should ask one of the mods to make your 'Winners List' thread a sticky so we can look back at each challenge. :D
Looking forward to #6!!!

That would be a good idea, I think I'm gonna try and see if Maureen wouldn't mind doing it after I get finshed updating everything and then I'll copy it all over to a PM so she can just copy and paste.

Maureen should be able to just make your original thread a sticky, so it stays at the top and you can continue to update it. :D:cool:

Alright Dave, and everyone else. I just PMed Maureen asking if she would sticky the rules, and winner's list for us, so hopefully we'll get lucky. Guess we'll have to wait and see! :)

Wow, thanks everyone for the kind words! I was surprised to see I had won as there were alot of great pics. Congrats also to snowrdr and Diminished29. I'll take a look over the rules as they've been changing a little over the past few days, and post a new challenge soon.

Just PM me if you have any questions and I'll try and help you the best I can.
The only thing I've edited in the new version of the rules we're a time change because there was a typo in the first one and we did have the sizes at 640, but have just decided to leave them at 800 on the longest side and a 200k limit.
I also reminded people that "Powershot" Pro 1's are NOT allowed!
Other than that everything has pretty much stayed the same and it probably we for some time now.

Well done everyone! I couldn't have decided between the pics myself (I had at least 4 or 5 personal favourites) - I'm glad I didn't have the job of choosing!
