Please tell me what is right or wrong with this image as I am having a hard time (as usual) deciding if it's worth keeping!
Thanks in advance
Martin.

I like the "less than perfect flower" approach.
To me it's a keeper, at least at this size it looks sharp enough.

I like it. The background colour is offsetting and suites the flower. Try sharpening the flower and it will appear to stand out more. The thin outer line in your frame is fine but is a little dark to the contrast of the blue/grey in the background. Sample the colour from a lighter area of that blue/grey.

This is a beautifull shot. Most macros of flowers are.
But in this case I do not feel that the lower right flower adds. I would crop the main flower so that the image is square . Optionally I would look at cropping just above the lower flower. I would probably stamp out the spot on the one petal -- sure it is "as is" but it will look more appealing without same. I love the blue (Stone?).
Careful with the sharpening. First I would try to sharpen just a tad.. and maybe just the central orange. Why? Because you acheived a soft look that you really ought to preserve.

It's a very nice photo Martin and definitely worth keeping.

as you ask martin
I would scrap it .......if it were mine
plenty more opportunities to get a better shot and not have another flower peeping over this ones shoulder , (so to speak )
also a few petals are missing on the main subject
so its rather distracting anyway.
best wishes
