I was wondering how this combination does, as far as sharpness of image and ease of focus. Does anyone have any experience with this combination and/or sample pics to post?

(And yes... I read the t-con sticky thread, it doesn't have much about this particular combo.)

Thanks.

On a 1.6 body, you lose AF (even with pins taped). It's quite the frustrating experience really trying to lock focus. I wouldn't really recommend a 2xTC, especially as focusing manually is very hard at this kind of FL.

Judy,
With my 10D and good light, the Canon 2x TC works reasonably well if stopped down to f/11. Ability to focus with the original Canon focus screen is dependant on the operater's eyes. AF will not work with 1.6 bodies. The f/8 maximum aperture limits picture taking to bright sunny days for most subjects.

I seldom use my EF 2x but I do not hesitate to use my EF 1.4x.
