portraits. I've dabbled in portraits, but I am really concentrating on it now. I would love some sound advice/critiques. The pic of my wife was taken using an old Tungten hot light through a white umbrella used as a softbox and a gold reflector to bounce some light to minimize the harsh shadow. This shot is slightly out of focus due to camera shake. I shot it with my 20D, but did not have a remote trigger.
The shot of my son used two 420 speedlights and two white umbrellas with black backing to bounce the light.

Nice subjects - nice photos!
Number 1 looks a bit 'anaemic' - could do with a bit more stauration and contrast!

They are nice. I would prefer to see a bit of color on the lips of the woman. With her blonde hair and fair skin, lip color could add the pizzaz the photo needs. I'd also make sure her hair wan't in her face like that but I know some people like that look.

I agree with you and Colliewalker1, the first one is lacking the pizzaz. As far as the hair goes. I brushed it aside, but it kept falling, so I said.. "What the heck...."
Thanks for the responses all. I need all the help I can get.
