I recently purchased the EOS-10D and have been having allot of fun with it. This is my first SLR so I have a bit of learning. In my first week I took over 2000 pictures. Good thing I don't have to buy film. Yes, I do work, it just turned out that I was taking a few days off on a road trip when I got this.

I'm not sure why everyone is concerned about the focusing, what about the problem where the camera can see straight through people?!

Ok, my wife got tired of waiting for my 10 second exposure so she stepped out half way through. Anyway, the forum looks pretty good and hope to learn more about the current issues. I can see that this is going to break the bank, so many things I NEED to buy like the 550EX flash and a macro lens and that new 17-40mm L series wide angle.

I guess I could ask right up front where the best place to buy stuff from (originally got the camera from a camera shop because I couldn't find it much cheaper online). I found www.buydig.com to be pretty cheep but haven't purchased from there yet.

Stay away from Buydig...I just had a TERRIBLE experience with them. Their customer support is horrible. They only care about making a fast buck.

Enjoy your 10d!

I like the service I've gotten from BHphoto.com. They may not always be the cheapest, but I have NEVER had a problem dealing with them. Thats more than I can say about Cameraworld/Ritz on line services. Of course everyone has opinions on who they like. My only wish is that BHPhoto had something closer to the west coast (shiping issue).

best of luck with the new camera.

Oh BTW, after a few weeks of my shooting pics, my wife decided she needed one also since she felt no pressure of wasting film. that was a camera body, BGED, 2 "L" lenses and several GB of CF cards, set of studio lights, 550EX, 420EX and a few bags/widgets ago.....

Better start the photo savings (right, like its going into a savings acct) acct now.......
