The makeshift reverse ring had cured long enough to put to use. Here are a couple pics. There's some ps elements help to remove sensor dust specs, resize, a little touch up and the quick enhance focus tool plus one focus stacked ant macro.

Thanks. Looking at the math in a different way. The ant in photo 2 is 3-3.5mm end to end, camera sensor is 27mm on the diagonal, so about 7 of them could stand end to end at 1:1 across the sensor, perhaps that one is 5 or 6:1?

Thanks for the great comments, the pics aren't that great out of the camera but with pse they start looking good within a few clicks! Think I could do this for a while without knowing a real macro lens?
