Hi,
I have a prob with my G5...well actually I dont know where my prob lies.
I was shooting in manual when my battery died, so I put the battery & charge & switched cameras...went back to the G5 a little later as I dont have a macro for the DSLR.
When I came to load my pics from the G5 on my pc, nothing was showing. I swapped CF cards, wondering if the battery dying may have caused a prob...same thing. I can see the pics on my camera...just cant get them onto the PC (everything works fine in Auto mode).
Now Im kind of new to shooting in manual & raw but this is the first time Ive encountered a problem.
I realise I may be just doing or missing something trivial so Im in need of some help.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanx.

What software are you using? Are you using canon's camerawindow? I have been shooting manual with my G5 and had my battery die several times but never encountered this problem.

If that don't work, you could try using a CF card reader and manually copy the files from the card. Your CF would become a removable disk. You should find something like a DCIM directory in there. I think this is where the pcitures should reside.

HTH! :D

What are you using to try and transfer the files?

Hi peeps...thanx for your responses.
Panic over, I reformatted the card & changed battery...everything now seems back to normal.
Dont know what the cause was but my moby/cell was in the same bag, for some reason the battery was dead & when recharged I couldnt get a signal on it for hours. I dont know if this had anything to do with it (probably talking out of my butt) but, I wont be keeping the two in the same bag anymore just in case.

Almost certainly you did not switch of the camera before taking the battery out. This can cause corruption.
You still should have been able to save the pictures by down loading them onto your computer with a card reader. That is the way I always do it anyway. I hate the canon software.

You can save pictures on your card with Pc Inspector file recovery.
It is a free down load and is easy to use and quite excellent.
I have even found pictures on a disk I had reformatted.
Do a Google and you will find lots of down load sites for it.
