Ok I usually don't shoot ducks. I actually don't really even like 'em. However, I've been a little ill lately and stuck in the house for the past 2 weeks solid. I was itchin' to go out and get some air and shoot something outdoors since I started to feel a little better. I went down to the local creek and got these with Bigma.

Had to shoot wide open to get even decent shutter speeds (1/200th or so @ 500mm is barely handholdable for me when it's this cold) at ISO800 so I hope you don't mind the lack of DOF on the last shot. I wish I coulda got it at about f/14 to get 'em both in focus. Unfortunately I forgot to throw my tripod or even monopod in the van before I left.

I love the Eye in the 3rd one, it's s shame there's some distraction from another bird on the left though.

Thanks. I cropped him out just now because when I looked again I saw it and thought the same thing. Reload your browser to see it.

Very nice compositions, in spite of not feeling well. I too, like the third shot best.

Thanks Dennis. I usually don't shoot birds. Just not my thing. Here's another one, heavily cropped, that I didn't think was worthwhile at first. It's not the sharpest but I kinda like it anyway.
