I have heard some things about resampling to a much larger file for enlargement purposes. How does this work? What is the best proceedure? And also what is genuine fractals, how do you do it, what is the quality and where do you find it? Any help appreciated.

Let me exaggerate to make the point.

Suppose you take each pixel of information and make four identical pixels out of it. Plop them down in the same place. All of a sudden, if you started with an 18MByte image file, you've got 72MBytes.

Now, suppose you do the same thing, but you do it will a little bit of image analysis going on. If your software can detect lines where colors transition, then it can do a better job than just making all four pixels the same as the original one. It can do it intelligently and end up with a slightly better result than just sticking with the original 18MByte image.

Such software capability comes free inside some image editors, and it comes inexpensively as stand-alone software. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, though. If you start with a messy image, you end up with another messy image that is four times as large. But if you learn how to manipulate it and control it, and then if you practice a lot with it, it can be one avenue toward better large prints. I don't think it has much value unless you are simply trying to get to larger prints.

I use genuine fractals print pro (with my 10D) to get files sizes up to 100MB (the place i sell prints want them at 100MB and 10D files are only 36MB) GFPP enlarges the print without loss of quality. (geniune fractals LE only enlarges to 60MB so you know) You can find more info here:
