Can someone give me the steps to properly size a photo? I am getting a teeny tiny picture when I get it down under 100. Right now it's around 600. I am using paint shop pro.
Thanks

I couldn't get it right until I got Photoshop. Picasa2 works as well, but you have to go through some complicated export stuff to get your edited version out of the program.
On the other hand, Picasa2 has a free blogspot thing that lets you post your edited photos, and provides you with a link to reference, rather than posting here directly.

I don't use paint shop but, what you want to do is resize the actual pixel width and height first, ie 800x600 for example. After doing that, then you can save your picture at different quality levels to get the file size under 100K but the picture will still be 800x600... :D

I just checked - if you have the Arcsoft software that came with the S2, there is an editing program that looks fairly similar to that of Photoshop and it has a resizing window.

Stefan your doing 2 things:
Step 1, resize the image. I havn't used paintshop since it was released, so I have no idea how, but somewhere will be a "resize image" or "image size" option, probably in one of the drop down menus.
Use "constrain proportions" and resize the longest side of the image to 800 pixels.
That way the shortest side will be automaticly resized to the right length.
Step 2.
Save the file as a JPEG, useing a new file name of course, usualy the "save as" comand.
Somewhere will be an option to adjust the Quality, or Compression, and it should give you a preview of what the file size will be.
Simply adjust the slider or number untill you get the right file size.

I found a prertty simple tut for paintshop that explains image resizing, its similar to doing it in photoshop:
http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/digitalphotography/l/blpsp_prep.htm
There are lots of others out there, and a simple google search will find lots of sites.

Well, I did it. I found the compression slider in the save dialogue box. Although it wasn't showing me the size as I was going. I just had to do trail and error until I got it. The look of the picture is more grainy than the original though. Oh well. Thanks for all the help.
