I've noticed a lot of ads on ebay for generic bp511 batteries that will fit canon dSLRs including mine (d60), for the low low price of $9.00 (usd) and less.
When I go to my local camera store a generic battery is going to cost me atleast $50 (usd).
Has anyone tried out any of these batteries. The retailers I'm looking at on ebay have huge ratings (ie. 26000+) so I'm not too concerned about being ripped off. But I'm curious as to the quality.

These batteries do work. Some swear by them. I have a pair of the "E-bay" nine dollar batts from "EforceMarketing"
The batteries work fine and Eforce is a pleasure to do business with. There Ebay store is here;

HOWEVER
I also have a pair of Maha Powerex batteries that were $30.00 each and the build quality is far superior.
The E-Bay batteries are very poorly made and the casings are extremely flimsy. They do not seem to last quite as long,. (although the difference is very small) and I understand that they are not expected to have as long a lifespan.. (ie not as many recharge cycles before trash bin time)
So its up to you to decide... but I got them becaus I though "Hey for $9.00 bucks??? Why not try?"

I bought a BP-512 from Battery barn.
When I first got it , the charge was great and did last longer than my OEM 511. It did fade away after a while and now the OEM lasts a little longer even though the 512 is supposed to have more capacity.
I wouldn't bother with the $9.95 knockoffs, even though they will work......for a while!
