Hello All
Converting raw files using bb with format set at 16-bit tiff. Produces a 35 - 36 mg file. Trying to do some work on Elements with this file but elements first has to convert this to its own default color depth. When i save the final image as a tiff, it is always at least half the size of the original image.
How can i do some work on the images but preserve the file size more or less? Seem to be struggling to understand this business.

Thanks

PE2 will only work on 8-bit files, so it converts your 16-bit TIFFs when you open them. Then it saves as 8-bit.

16-bit is twice the size of 8-bit, which is why files are different sizes.

You have no choice except to change your editor to something that will work with 16-bit files: Photoshop 7 or Paint Shop Pro are the two obvious choices.
