I have the Canon G1 & 420EX
While reading 420 EX manual, I am confused as to what G1 is classified.
Is that a type A or B camera?
G1 is not listed in the manual at all.
It is my main and only flash and I never saw the preflash automatic firing from the flash unit.
I understand the camera does fire up (when the shutter is half pressed) to measure the focus and lighting of the object . Does it use the camera focusing light to adjust the flash strength instead of from the flash unit itself.
Is either the camera or the flash unit faulty?
I have occasional 'underexposed' problem. Otherwise the combination work ok and the camera obviously control s the output (though not 100% of the chance)
Any input would be most appreciated
