I am sure they sense humans by smell and the slightest movement and this fellow is off. I am struggling a bit with the canon 70-200 + 1.4 extender - tell me ... what is your bigma lens like and quality of pics?

I'm interested in hearing this response too Martin. Like Alan, I am debating which telephoto to buy. I have the 70-200 as well and the 1.4 extender on the 20D. Nothing is reliable outside of 30 yards even with the extender - autofocus or manual, still have to crop too much to get the desired shot.

The bigma is fantastic, as I walk a lot all my shots are hand held so a lot are not as sharp as could be but the good ones are realy good and I find I can get a lot more average distance shots which with the 75-300mm I used before was out of the question. This shot was handheld at about 20' from the bird:lol:
