I want to upload some pictures to the Canon Image Gateway (CIG) with ZoomBrowser EX 4.1 (also tried with 4.0.2) but after uploading 1 picture I get an error message: "Connection to the Canon Image Gateway failed because of an invalid browser setting".
I've contacted Canon and they say that the problem is related to standalone and network computers. Only standalone computers are able to upload. I have an ADSL connection to internet and a LAN connection to the ADSL modem (UTP, 10/100Mbit) with Win2000. So mine computer is a standalone computer with a LAN connection to the internet. Does somebody know how to solve this problem or to upload pictures to CIG in another way than with ZoomBrowser (or the internet upload option in CIG)?

Hi there,
I can't help solve your problem but I can relate to your predicament.
I'm suffering exactly the same problem with the image gateway when uploading pictures.
Interesting to see your response from Canon (interesting that you got one as I'm still waiting for a response to two email requests for help).
I'm using a standalone machine connected via a dial up connection to ISP.

Running Win 98, IE6 and Zoombrowser 4.0.2.120

I am keen to get this working but am still searching the Internet for a solution (your's is the first instance of the same problem I've found).

I'm currently reverting back to IE5.5 to see if that makes any difference, I'll let you know.

If you've had any developments on this then please let me know.

Cheers,
Pete

Hi,

I have just encountered the same problem and was wondering if you ever found a solution to it. I would be grateful for any feedback.

Cheers

There's only one solution I know of; don't use ZoomBrowser but upload it directly using your Internet Browser. I had the same problems, but never had them when I stopped using ZoomBrowser.

Is there a Canon Image Gateway for USA/Canada?

I don't believe there is. I bought my S45 and it came with the CIG-connection, but when I bought my G3 it turned out to be a camera from the US and when I tried to install the CIG-software on my new PC it didn't work. Canon Europe told me it wasn't possible to register a camera with a non-European serial number on CIG.

Nope there isnt.

And best way to upload to CIG is via browser since it by passes the proxy problem that affects Zoombrowser ...

another hint is that you can log into CIG without zoombrowser ...
