Went out today before this major Nor'easter came in. Figured the Northeast winds might bring some seabirds closer to shore. After scanning the ocean for a while hoping for a Black-legged Kittiwake or razorbill, the gorgeous gannets came in closer than normal. These shots are nowhere near the excellent shots that CDS has posted, but I like them. Especially the second one.

Love # 2. On a side note, it would be cool to see some pics of the Nor'easter, if possible. Will you get snow, rain or both?

Thanks everyone! It's so fascinating watching these beautiful seabirds. Mills: right now we are getting lots of snow. But Nor'easters are also known for also causing flooding and sometimes hurricane-like winds and torrential rains in coastal areas. They are the biggest fear of people living near the ocean. Nor'easter season runs from October to April. When I heard 'nor'easter' I thought of two things, "Dammit, I hate shoveling snow" and "Seabirds!" as in these conditions, seabirds which are often far offshore, are blown in closer to the shoreline.
