I was wondering if I can use a Yashica lens (not digital) on my Canon Eos Rebel digital camera. The lens is a 100mm ring flash embedded in the lens.
Thanks, Dr. Babbitt

Need to know more info on the lens, in the meantime maybe this would help http://cgi.ebay.com/Mount-adapter-for-Contax-Yashica-LENs-to-Canon-EF-EOS_W0QQitemZ7589524550QQcategoryZ3340QQrdZ1QQcmdZ ViewItem

so long as whatever you get couples with your Yashica, and mounts to a Canon EF EOS. I know nothing about Yashica lens' or the mount that I linked, just a thought.

IF you can find an adapter that will allow you to fit the Yashica lens to the Canon body, there are two things that would be of concern. I could not find such an adapter on B&H, even though they have one for Nikon lenses on an EOS camera.

First - what is the difference in the "mount surface-to-film surface" distance for the two bodies? If the Yashica lens mount is closer to the "film" than the EOS bodies, you could never focus to infinity with the Yashica lens.

Second - you would have a totally manual system for setting the aperture and for focussing. This requires that the Yashica lens have a manual ring on it for setting the aperture, in addition to a ring for focus adjustments.
