Girls in wedding dresses....

Ok so this weekend I had some girls in wedding dresses. Please let me know your thoughts on some of my favorites...

Shots 2 and 3 seems to be cropped at awkward places - cutting off the bottom of the wedding dress and flowers. Overall, great shots.

1 & 2 would be good pics if the dress wasn't cut off. I like 3 except for the upper left corner - the black needs to be cloned out to match the rest of the background. Also the hairline could be cleaned up a bit. It's ok that the flowers are cut off because that fits with the crop of the rest of the picture.

Questions, the Expression of the girls matters less then seeing the bottom of the dress? Both dresses are very simple and lack detail. I ask because I always see interesting crops on here, other forums and in the Wedding Magazines my clients bring in with them.

I try different crops to try and work the imagination a little. Maybe my crops don't work?

Just my opinion...the crops are interesting. The rule I give myself for cropping is this: It's ok to chop part of the person/subject, as long as it's a tight crop all the way around the subject. Your 2nd pic looks chopped off at the bottom because there is so much space above the head. If that space wasnt' there, you wouldn't notice the bottom of the dress missing.

Does that make any sense?
