Hi all
I am wondering if any of you can shed any light on this. My photos from my new S2 are not showing any ISO info in any program after I upload them from the camera.
Here's an original straight from the cam if you wanna test for yourself. This pic was actually taken at ISO 100.

I have seen somewhere on other forums that Canon Cameras dont write ISO data to EXIF in jpegs. Is this true ?
many thanks for any help

I've been able to access the complete EXIF data on the Zoombrowser software that came with the camera. This includes the ISO.
Once you edit the shot, the data seems to disappear.

Thanks for the reply but again....
if you look at the image I posted above - http://www.kieranstafford.utvinternet.com/files/temp/IMG_0750.jpg
This is straight out of the camera, unedited, it was taken with ISO 100. Now if you try and access the exif from any program such as photoshop CS2, or gallery or whatever (even windows explorer) the ISO piece of data is completely missing. This is happening with all pics our of my S2. Perhaps other bits of data are missing too. Can anyone shed any light on this please.

Hi I can access the ISO which as you said is 100 and all the other Exif information using a programme called Exifer. However I can't access the ISO through the pictures properties in Windows Explorer. All my own photos taken with the S2 react the same ie, no ISO information unless looked at through Exifer. Hope this helps.

so it seems that Canon S2 pics expose cerain data such as ISO only to very particular and dedicated software.
Why is that?
I thought EXIF was meant to be a standard. Surely Photoshop CS2, Paint Shop Pro, Gallery ect are all well recognised and respected programs that should be able to see all EXIF data.

I just opened one of my photos on Photoshop Elements 4.0, in the browser section - if I right click on the image, I get the full EXIF readout, including ISO.

I take it back - it shows ISO on pictures taken with the XT, but not with the S2.
How strange.

I have noticed the same problem with my exif data using an S2. The program I am using is Opanda IExif. No ISO with the S2.

I use "Irfanview" to look at my photos and do quick crops, etc. I downloaded your pic and looked at the EXIF on it and all was shown, including ISO100?
